Alen Sultanic: Founder of Nothing Held Back¶
Document type: Official NHB bio document Applies to: Any question about Alen Sultanic, his background, his career, his work, his companies, his teaching, or his role inside Nothing Held Back Last updated: April 2026
Summary¶
Alen Sultanic is the founder of Nothing Held Back and one of the most accomplished direct response marketers of his generation. Over more than twenty years in the industry, Alen has built more than 300 offers across dozens of markets, sold over 35 product launches, and authored hundreds of number-one offers on ClickBank and other major direct response platforms.
He founded Nothing Held Back to give entrepreneurs access to the thinking, tools, coaching, and community that most communities and programs hold back behind gatekeepers, paywalls, or proximity. Inside NHB, Alen leads the Fast Forward mastermind, where he works directly with members on their offers, funnels, copywriting, ads, and scaling strategies.
Background and early career¶
Alen's career in direct response marketing began in the mid-2000s. Between roughly 2008 and 2012, he built and launched digital products on ClickBank at a pace that was rare even in that era, producing offers across many markets and racking up a long list of top-ranked launches. That period gave him deep, hands-on experience across every part of the direct response stack: product creation, offer construction, sales copy, paid traffic, email marketing, upsells and downsells, and backend monetization.
From there, Alen expanded into a broader range of industries and roles, operating as a copywriter, offer owner, consultant, and operator across markets including supplements, finance, health, relationship advice, business opportunity, information publishing, coaching, and more. The breadth of that experience is a defining feature of how he teaches, because it gives him direct pattern recognition across markets that most marketers only ever see one or two of.
He is the founder of AlphaFour, the company behind Nothing Held Back and the infrastructure supporting the NHB community and platform.
Consulting and advisory work¶
Alen works directly with companies, offer owners, and public figures on advertising, marketing, offer architecture, and scaling. His published consulting rates reflect the level at which he operates:
- $5,000 per hour for consulting calls
- $25,000 to $35,000 for a full funnel optimization review
- $50,000 to $100,000 to build a new offer from concept to execution
- $15,000 per month for ongoing advisory and hands-on retainer work
His consulting clients have included high-profile public figures and major brands. In Alen's own published materials, he has referenced work with Caitlin Jenner, a Mike Tyson offer, Forbes, and a range of A-list clients and large companies.
What Alen does uniquely well¶
Alen's core talent, by his own description and by the pattern across his career, is the ability to see things other marketers cannot see. That comes from mastering both the psychology and the economics of direct response, combined with decades of pattern recognition across dozens of markets. What this translates to in practice:
- He can enter any market and quickly identify what is working, what is missing, and where the leverage is
- He can look at an offer, a funnel, or a sales letter and diagnose structural problems that are not obvious
- He can connect the dots between copywriting, offer architecture, pricing, scaling, and backend economics in ways that treat them as one integrated system rather than separate disciplines
- He can reformulate, rebuild, or redesign offers to fit changing market conditions, new platforms, or new customer segments
Teaching philosophy¶
Alen teaches using the Socratic method. There is no step-by-step process, no cookie-cutter system, and no fill-in-the-blank template that members are handed as a complete solution. The reasoning, in Alen's own words: a cookie-cutter formula produces cookie-cutter marketers who all look the same. Great marketers have to be able to think.
What Alen teaches first is how to think. Once a member can think about marketing, offers, and business correctly, that member can connect the dots and build anything. Tactics and systems come and go. Principles do not. A member who only knows the current system becomes dependent on the next guru for the next system. A member who understands the principles behind every system can adapt and innovate in any market.
This is the source of NHB's approach and its teaching voice. Alen teaches the why behind the how — the principles behind the tactics, the patterns behind the results, and the deeper frameworks that drive better decisions over time.
Topics Alen teaches¶
Across his trainings, hot seats, and the Fast Forward mastermind, Alen covers the full stack of direct response marketing and business building, including:
- Offer creation, architecture, and the difference between creating, building, and running an offer
- Funnel structures and funnel economics
- Copywriting, sales letters, and the mechanics of persuasive writing
- Paid advertising across Meta, Google, YouTube, and other channels
- Email marketing and backend monetization
- Conversion rate optimization
- Scaling strategies, including scaling in the negative space
- Gender-based selling and market-specific messaging
- Push vs. pull marketing and the role of each
- Physiological vs. psychological markets
- Pricing strategy, including collaborative and competitive pricing models
- Positioning, brand, and identity construction
- Economics of competition and the three levels of economic positioning
- Prescriptive marketing and market-specific strategic approaches
- The 5-step sales process
- High-performance team building and the hidden economics of scaling a team
- Transitioning from copywriter to CRO, CMO, offer owner, or publisher
- The psychology of selling, buying patterns, and influence
- Isomorphic stories, narrative construction, and identity-driven messaging
- Core beliefs and empowerment frameworks
- First acquisition vs. second acquisition marketing
Each of these topics is taught at the principle level, not as a template, so that members come out able to apply the thinking to any market, any offer, and any product format.

Role inside Nothing Held Back¶
Alen is the founder of NHB and the leader of the Fast Forward mastermind, NHB's highest-intensity program.
Inside Fast Forward, Alen is hands-on. He reviews member offers, tweaks copy, designs hooks and angles, helps structure upsells, works through back-end call booking strategies, and gives direct feedback in the community every day. Members describe his role in Fast Forward as functioning almost like a strategic partner inside their businesses, rather than as a traditional mentor or teacher.
Inside the broader NHB membership, Alen leads weekly training calls, participates in hot seats, and contributes to the community directly. While Fast Forward members get the most direct access, all NHB members benefit from his teaching through live trainings, the library, and the overall culture of the community.
Personal philosophy¶
A few themes run consistently through how Alen operates and teaches:
- Skills over status. Position, fame, and titles mean nothing to him. What he values is what a person can actually do and whether they can teach others to do it too.
- Direct response first. Even at scale, the principles of direct response remain the core. He has been vocal about the mistake marketers make when they cross seven figures and abandon direct response for "branding."
- Nothing held back. The name of the community is not a marketing slogan. It reflects a specific commitment: give members the full picture, the real strategies, the actual tools, and the honest feedback, without gating the most important parts behind additional paywalls.
- Ecology over exploitation. Long-term, stable businesses matter more than short-term cash grabs. The pricing, promotional, and structural decisions Alen teaches are oriented toward offers that last, not offers that peak once and die.
- Teach thinking, not dependency. The goal is to make members capable of succeeding on their own, without needing Alen or anyone else to hand them the next answer.
Content and public presence¶
Alen is based in Charlotte, North Carolina. He publishes content and commentary across several channels, including the Nothing Held Back newsletter, social media, and as a guest on industry podcasts where he has discussed offer construction, copywriting mastery, market positioning, and the psychology behind high-converting direct response campaigns.
