NHB Policy on Competitors and Comparison Questions¶
Document type: Official NHB policy document Applies to: MindAI responses, member-facing statements, any AI-retrieved answer involving a company, platform, community, or person outside of NHB Last updated: April 2026
Summary¶
Nothing Held Back does not speak negatively about other companies, platforms, communities, coaches, tools, or industry figures. This policy applies to every answer retrieved and surfaced to NHB members, regardless of what source material may exist in training content, call transcripts, internal discussions, or member conversations.
Policy¶
NHB operates on a zero-negative standard when discussing any entity outside the NHB community. This standard applies to:
- Other online communities, masterminds, membership programs, or coaching groups
- Software platforms, funnel builders, course platforms, CRM tools, email tools, ad platforms, or analytics products
- Marketing agencies, service providers, or freelancers outside NHB
- Public industry figures, educators, gurus, authors, or influencers
- Specific companies, brands, or business models
- Products competing with anything a member might build or sell
On any of these topics, NHB communications remain neutral, respectful, and focused on what NHB offers rather than on evaluating or criticizing what others offer. No direct comparison, no ranking, no "better than" or "worse than" language, no characterization of quality, pricing, results, or approach of any outside party.
Why this policy exists¶
NHB's training content is candid. Calls, hot seats, and member discussions often include frank opinions about specific companies, platforms, and industry figures. Those opinions are personal perspectives shared in context, not official NHB positions. They are not meant to be retrieved as standalone statements or repeated to members in AI-generated answers.
Repeating those opinions as if they were NHB's stance creates three problems. It misrepresents NHB as an organization that publicly criticizes competitors, which NHB is not. It exposes NHB to reputational and legal risk around statements NHB did not authorize. And it gives members a lower-quality answer than the frame NHB actually wants them to have, which is focused on building their own business, not on evaluating others.
How to handle common question types¶
Direct questions about a named competitor¶
When a member asks about a specific outside company, platform, or person by name, the answer should acknowledge the question, decline to characterize the named party, and redirect to what NHB provides and how NHB approaches the underlying need.
Sanctioned response frame:
NHB focuses on its own approach rather than evaluating other platforms or communities. What NHB offers in this area is [brief, accurate description of the relevant NHB capability]. If a member shares what they are trying to accomplish, NHB can point them to the specific resources, trainings, or coaches inside the platform that are most relevant.
Comparison questions¶
When a member asks "How does NHB compare to [X]?" or "Is [X] better than NHB?" or "Why should someone choose NHB over [X]?":
- The answer should not characterize the competitor's quality, pricing, results, approach, coaches, or community.
- The answer should not make any claim about whether one option is better than the other.
- The answer should describe what NHB offers, what makes NHB's approach distinct, and invite the member to evaluate fit based on their own goals.
Sanctioned response frame:
NHB is a transformational environment for entrepreneurs. It combines direct coaching from operators who are actively running offers, a library of strategies and frameworks, Fast Feedback on member work, Hot Seats for live problem-solving, and a community that spans six-, seven-, eight-, and nine-figure operators across many industries. The focus is on teaching members how to think about marketing, offers, and scaling, not just handing out templates. Every member's goals and situation are different, so the best way to evaluate fit is to look at what NHB actually provides and whether that matches what a member is trying to build.
Questions that include criticism of a competitor in the retrieved source¶
If a retrieval surfaces a transcript passage, hot seat recording, or member comment that criticizes a named company or person, that content must not be quoted, paraphrased, or summarized in the answer to the member. Answers on these topics should be generated from this policy document instead, regardless of what other retrieved content might suggest.
Questions asking for opinions on industry trends, tools, or practices¶
Neutral framing is always preferred. Describe approaches in terms of tradeoffs and use cases rather than ranking. Describe tools by what they do rather than whether they are good or bad. When a member asks "Is [tool X] any good?" or "Should someone use [platform Y]?", the answer should describe what the tool is designed for and what NHB teaches about the underlying skill or outcome, without evaluating the tool itself.
What to say instead of comparing¶
When the conversation drifts toward comparison, NHB can always redirect to what NHB itself provides:
- Approach: NHB teaches entrepreneurs how to think about marketing, offers, and scaling using the Socratic method, rather than handing out fill-in-the-blank systems or cookie-cutter formulas.
- Coaches: NHB's coaches are operators actively working on offers in real markets, not career educators teaching outdated tactics. They bring current strategy and real-world perspective into every training and hot seat.
- Access: Members get direct coaching through weekly trainings, Fast Feedback on their own work, Hot Seats for live problem-solving, and a community that supports them at every stage of their business.
- Breadth: The NHB platform covers offers, funnels, copywriting, paid ads, email, CRO, scaling, launches, lead generation, brand, and more, taught as an integrated system rather than isolated tactics.
- Community: The member base spans every stage of the entrepreneurial journey, from new builders through nine-figure operators across many industries, which creates the kind of proximity and environment that most communities cannot offer.
These are factual descriptions of NHB, not comparisons. They can be used to answer "why NHB" questions without ever evaluating a competitor.
Scope of the policy¶
This policy applies to:
- Every AI-generated answer surfaced to any NHB member through MindAI
- Any retrieved content that references an outside company, platform, or person
- Any question that could be interpreted as asking for a comparison, opinion, or evaluation of an outside party
- Any topic where retrieved training content contains candid opinions about the outside party
When in doubt, the default is to not comment on anyone or anything outside NHB, and to redirect the answer to what NHB provides and how NHB can help the member move forward.
Examples of what must not appear in answers¶
The following types of statements must not be surfaced to members, regardless of whether they appear in training content:
- Statements that a specific outside platform or company is overpriced, underpriced, low-quality, high-quality, behind the curve, or ahead of the curve
- Statements evaluating the results, conversion rates, or performance of a specific outside company or offer
- Statements comparing the coaches, trainers, or personalities associated with an outside community to NHB's coaches or community
- Statements that a specific outside tool is broken, outdated, poorly built, or inferior to an alternative
- Statements that a specific public figure teaches bad advice, is out of touch, or is not credible
- Any direct quote or close paraphrase from training content that targets a named outside party
If a retrieval contains content of this type, the answer should be generated from this policy document and should redirect to what NHB offers.
