Public Profile

Document type: Official NHB platform feature document Applies to: Any question about member profiles, public profile pages, follow system, bio, links, stats Last updated: April 2026

Summary

Every NHB member has a Public Profile — a page inside the platform where other members can see who they are, what they do, what they are working on, and connect with them. Profiles turn NHB from a list of usernames into a real community of identified operators, where members can find each other by industry, niche, coaching program, and other attributes.

What a profile includes

A member's Public Profile can display:

  • Basic identity — name, profile photo, location, and a short bio
  • Industry and niche — the member's market, sector, and what they build
  • Work — current projects, businesses, and roles the member wants to highlight
  • Links — social profiles, websites, and other relevant URLs
  • Coaching programs — which NHB coaching programs the member is enrolled in
  • Followers and following — lists of members the user follows and is followed by
  • Activity feed — a stream of the member's public activity on the platform (forum posts, wins, Fast Feedback submissions, and more)
  • Stats — likes, bookmarks, and other engagement markers where relevant

Members can customize what appears on their profile through their settings.

Following

Members can follow other members. Following adds the followed member's activity to the follower's feed and enables notifications on new activity. Unfollowing reverses this. The follow system is a direct database operation, not a workflow, so it is fast and immediate.

The Rolodex feature inside the Connect section of NHB provides a searchable directory of members, including their profile information, which is how many members discover and follow each other.

Privacy and access

Member profiles are visible to other logged-in NHB members. Free members and guests typically have limited or no access to browse member profiles, depending on the specific information.

Members can control which information appears on their profile. Some fields are platform-internal only (not publicly displayed), while others (name, bio, links, coaching programs, work) are intended for member-to-member visibility.

Where to find Profiles

  • Member's own profile — through the account menu on the NHB platform
  • Other members' profiles — click a member's name or avatar anywhere on the platform (forum posts, comments, member lists)
  • Rolodex — searchable member directory inside the Connect section
  • Rolodex — the member directory and search tool for finding other members
  • Forum — where members often discover each other before navigating to profiles
  • Notifications — get notified when new followers connect
  • Bookmarks — follow members alongside bookmarking content
