Summary¶

Discord is NHB's live chat layer. It runs on the third-party Discord platform and is where real-time, back-and-forth community conversation happens throughout the day. Members use Discord for quick questions, reactions to live calls, casual banter with other operators, and the daily rhythm of being in the NHB community.

Discord complements the NHB Forum, which is the long-form, searchable, durable discussion space. Together they cover the two main modes of community: Discord for live chat, Forum for substantive long-form discussion.

How Discord fits into NHB¶

NHB's community spaces each have a specific role:

NHB Forum (inside the NHB platform) — durable, searchable, long-form threads. For substantive discussion that members want to be able to find later.
Discord — real-time chat. For daily conversation, quick questions, live-call reactions, and casual community presence.
Facebook group (legacy) — being phased out as the NHB platform's native forum matures.

Members use all three to different degrees. Many active members check Discord throughout the day, post occasional forum threads for substantive questions, and use the platform for structured work.

What members use Discord for¶

Common uses:

Quick questions — "Anyone here run cold traffic to a book-a-call page recently? Quick question..."
Live-call reactions — chatter during and after live calls, catching each other on points raised
Sharing wins and work — informal posting of screenshots, wins, and in-progress work
Finding other members — connecting with other operators in the community
Member-to-member coordination — setting up calls, meetups, partnerships

Discord is faster and less formal than the forum. If a question is quick and the member wants a quick answer, Discord is usually the right place. If the question is substantive, nuanced, or something the member might want to reference later, the forum is better.

Channel structure¶

The NHB Discord has multiple channels organized around:

Topic areas — channels for specific marketing disciplines (copywriting, ads, email, CRO, and more)
Program communities — channels specific to coaching programs, where program members chat
Wins — a channel where members share results and milestones
General — the main community chat channel
Announcements — official NHB announcements and updates

Who has access¶

Discord access is for paying NHB members. Joining the NHB Discord is part of the onboarding process when a member signs up for Pro or Fast Forward. Coaching Program members also typically have access to their program's private channels inside Discord.

How to join¶

New members get a Discord invite link during onboarding. The NHB team also provides a join link through the platform for members who need it: tiny.cc/join-nhb-discord.

A daily Discord Digest summarizes the best community discussions from each day, so members who don't check Discord constantly can still stay up to speed on what's happening in the community.
