Hot Seats

Document type: Official NHB platform feature document Applies to: Any question about Hot Seats — what they are, how to submit, who runs them, scheduling, how submissions become live call discussions Last updated: April 2026

Summary

Hot Seats are live calls where a member's business, offer, or question gets worked on in real time by a coach in front of the NHB community. A member submits their context ahead of time through a Google Doc, and the coach picks it up and discusses it on the scheduled call.

There is no review or approval gate — the submission is the input, the live discussion is the output. Members see coaches working through real businesses every week, which is often more educational than hearing the same concepts taught in the abstract.

How Hot Seats work

  1. A member finds an upcoming Hot Seat slot on the Hot Seats page and clicks Book a Hot Seat.
  2. They fill out the submission popup with a Google Doc link that contains their business context, question, and any material they want the coach to look at.
  3. The submission is booked to that specific upcoming call.
  4. On the call, the coach opens the Google Doc and works through it live with the member and the community.

Only Google Doc links are accepted for submissions. The platform validates this and will show an error if another link type is used.

Types of Hot Seats inside NHB

The NHB platform runs three categories of Hot Seats, each tied to a different program:

  • Fast Forward Hot Seats — hosted by Alen, available to Fast Forward members. Members submit through the Fast Feedback section of the platform.
  • NHB Pro Hot Seats — once per month, each coach runs a dedicated NHB Pro Hot Seat call where any Pro member can request to be in the hot seat. These replace the coach's regular weekly training call that week.
  • Coaching Program Hot Seats — each coach runs a weekly private Hot Seat session for members of their specific coaching program. These are restricted to members enrolled in that program.

The Coaching Program Hot Seats include:

  • MASL Hot Seats — hosted by Loren Pinilis for Meta Ads & Scale Lab members
  • GASL Hot Seats — hosted by Charles Kirkland for Google Ads & Scaling Lab members
  • AI Superpower Hot Seats — hosted by Robert Neckelius for AI Superpower members
  • Copywriting Mastery Hot Seats — hosted by Chris Haddad for Copywriting Mastery members
  • LL Hot Seats — hosted by Kevin Sheerin for Live Launch members
  • Email to CMO Pro Hot Seats — hosted by Isaac Lara for Email to CMO Pro members
  • CROA Hot Seats — hosted by Brandon Vasquez for CRO Accelerator members

Finding and booking Hot Seats

The Hot Seats page shows upcoming sessions in a grouped feed:

  • This Week — sessions happening in the next 7 days
  • Next Week — sessions 8 to 14 days out
  • Upcoming — sessions beyond 14 days, expandable with Load More

Each card shows the date, the hosting coach, and a button to book or view attendance.

Past Hot Seats do not appear on the upcoming feed. Recordings of past Hot Seats live in the NHB Library, where members can search and filter them.

Managing a booked Hot Seat

Once a member has booked a Hot Seat, they see a Booked Actions panel on the call card with four options:

  • View GDoc — opens the submitted Google Doc in a new tab
  • Edit Submission — reopens the submission popup to update the doc link or details
  • Reschedule — moves the submission to a different upcoming call (multi-step popup)
  • Cancel — cancels the booking

Who can submit Hot Seats

Access to submitting a Hot Seat depends on membership level and program enrollment:

  • Fast Forward Hot Seats — Fast Forward members only
  • Coaching Program Hot Seats — members enrolled in the specific coaching program only (for example, CRO Accelerator Hot Seats are restricted to CRO Accelerator members)
  • NHB Pro Hot Seats — any NHB Pro member, typically monthly per coach

Free and Plus members (legacy) do not have Hot Seat submission access.

The submission form

The Hot Seat submission form (pop.ApplyHotSeat) is a short multi-step popup. The member:

  1. Chooses which upcoming session to submit to (sessions with open slots)
  2. Reviews the submission rules
  3. Selects whether the submission is a Question (specific business question) or a Review (full business/offer review)
  4. Provides the Google Doc link with their context and material
  5. Confirms and submits

The popup closes on a success screen once the submission is locked in.

Where to find Hot Seats

  • Main page — the Hot Seats section on the NHB platform
  • Library — past Hot Seat recordings are stored in the NHB Library for on-demand replay
  • Fast Feedback page — Fast Forward Hot Seats submit through the Fast Feedback section
  • Fast Feedback — asynchronous version of personalized coach feedback, via Loom video rather than live discussion
  • Live Calls — regular training calls run by each coach; Hot Seats are one format within the broader live call schedule
  • Coaching Programs — each coaching program includes its own weekly Hot Seat, available only to program members

Summary for answering member questions

When a member asks about Hot Seats, the answer should cover:

  • What they are: live calls where a coach works through a member's business, offer, or question in real time in front of the community
  • Who can submit: Fast Forward members (FF Hot Seats with Alen), coaching program members (their program's Hot Seat), and NHB Pro members (monthly Pro Hot Seat with each coach)
  • How to submit: Google Doc link via the submission popup on the Hot Seats page
  • How scheduling works: members book a specific upcoming session, then the coach picks up the submission and discusses it on that call
  • How to manage a booking: View GDoc, Edit, Reschedule, or Cancel from the booked call card
  • Where to watch past Hot Seats: the NHB Library has all recordings

Any questions about outcomes a member will get from being in a Hot Seat, specific revenue claims, or comparisons to other communities' Hot Seat formats should follow the NHB income and results policy and competitor policy.
